WRITING

I realized that writing is a kind of medicine for me when I finished my first novel, The Spiral Curve. I have always written throughout my life, but for the first time, I dedicated hours of my day to writing with a disciplined approach with my novel. As is often the case, people don’t realize the value of something when they actually have it. It was only after I finished writing my novel that I realized the benefits it brought to me.

I realized it then, because after I finished writing my novel, I found myself in a serious mental void. You can compare this to the feeling of emptiness we experience after completing any job. However, I can assure you that writing is not just a job. When my novel was complete, I realized that while writing it, my emotions were clearer. In addition to my emotions, my memory was also better. And the most important thing is; I felt more hopeful about life.

Actually, it's not just about writing a novel. Years ago, my therapist suggested that I write about my traumas and obsessions. As a result, I realized that the more I wrote, the more relieved I felt, and I even found myself free from them. After all of this, you wouldn’t be able to convince me that writing isn't something magical. As it is well known, the civilizations of Mesopotamia were highly influential in the practices of magic and sorcery. However, only the most impactful of these practices has survived. I offer my gratitude to the great Sumerian intellectuals, the benefactors of this magnificent magic, which has become my work, my medicine, and my passion.
